The Drainage Team's responsibilities included developing a definition of drainage along with goals and objectives, a historical perspective of drainage, an assessment of drainage today, problem identification, and potential solutions and strategies. The Drainage Team consists of people from the various jurisdictions who are knowledgeable in the drainage field. Information was gleaned from various publications such as A River Runs North, Red River Water Resources Council; Understanding Minnesota Public Drainage Law, Minnesota Association of Counties; Designation of Drains, Manitoba Water Resources; and the North Dakota County Code. The group focused on man-made or altered drainage.
